Movie Name : Toofaan (2021)
STORY :
The story is old wine in a new bottle which takes us back to the 1970s or 80s. A girl falls in love with a boy, but she is forced to marry another. The story goes on like this with a tame end.
REVIEW :
Director Smile Seenu could have done a better job of the story by giving it a new-age angle that would have attracted Gen Y. The director fails in narrating a good story. Sudden change in sequences, and not-so-impressive editing and cinematography have further weakened the work.
The story revolves around Raji (Nakshathra) who falls in love with Surya (Yashas), her classmate. But her parents force her to marry Akash (Chandan). Raji tells Surya that she would tell Akash the real story and come back to him. The rest of the story moves on an expected line with Raji leaving Akash to meet Surya. But there is a curious turn in the climax. What̢۪s it?
Full marks to Yashas for his brilliant performance. But same cannot be said about Nakshathra. Sadhu Kokila̢۪s comedy track is not up to the mark. Music by Ellwyn Joshua has a couple of catchy tunes.
